Department of Science & Technology Uttar Pradesh to organize Zonal Innovation Meet at GL Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management

Regional Department of Science & Technology, Ghaziabad is going to organize a zone level innovation meet at GL Bajaj Institute of Engineering Technology on upcoming 27th July.
The meet is open for innovators of both organized and unorganized sector and top 3 innovations in different categories will also be awarded on discretion of judges.
This is the first such meet being organized in Gautam Buddh Nagar. It is part of an initiative being carried out on the directives of Science & Technology Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The regional units of the department have been lately designated as innovation cells for to promote and encourage innovators of the region.
Suresh Chandra Sharma, Regional Science Officer from Ghaziabad Innovation cell and Dr. Rajiv Agarwal, Director, GLBITM addressed a media briefing in this regard at GL Bajaj institute today.
Suresh Chandra Sharma said, “Innovations primarily happen in order to execute a certain task in an easier manner. The cost factor also plays a vital role and most of the times innovations reduce the cost of existing similar tools. With such Innovation meet we want to provide a platform to innovators of the region to bring forward their achievements. Innovators from unorganized sector or those who do not have adequate educational qualification often fail to make desired impact of their innovations because of lack of proper platform. In such cases there effort only remains limited to their use and whatever great good it might be capable of is never achieved. Hence we are targeting a wide variety of innovators for this meet. It is an open initiative where anyone from standard 6th and above can bring forward their scientific developments. They will be analysed by a team of expert judges and will be rewarded suitably. We will also pave way for the patent of suitable technologies and will help the deserving individuals realize the true worth of their effort”.
The department has kept this meet open for all without any pre-registration formalities. There will be different categories for different domains and anyone from a student to a farmer or a artisan can take part in this meet with their innovation.
The transportation cost for participating in this meet will also be provided to the eligible candidates. The innovation meet will take place between 9 am to 3 pm on 27th of July at GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management.
However only the innovators who have made their innovation possible without any external financial or technical aid will be eligible to take part in this meet. The innovations must be original and latest.
Joint Director of Science and Technology Department, Uttar Pradesh, Radhelal will also be present during the innovation meet.
