UP Govt will give Rs 6 Crore to Olympic gold medalist

Today Chetan Chauhan Minister for Youth and sports, Government of Uttar Pradesh had made number of Great announcements for sports that will certainly change the destiny of sports in Uttar Pradesh. Today the sports minister is attending the launch ceremony of UP Yoddha 2018 edition for Pro Kabaddi League when he made announcements.
In a trail of announcements the biggest was that , UP Government will be facilitate the Olympic gold medalist with 6 core as well as 4 crore for bronze and 2 for silver. “State will now saw the reverse migration as the players who had migrated from the state to other state because of poor infrastructure and sports facility. Once again they are wishing to come back to their state and want to play from here” said sports minister.
Government of Uttar Pradesh will facilitate Asian games medal holders with rupees 50 lakh for gold medal winner 30 for silver and 20 lakh for bronze. Not only winner but all the participants are facilitated with 5 lakh as consolation prize on October 2nd by Chief Minister in a ceremony that will took place on Lucknow . In Asian Games 2018 44 players from Uttar Pradesh had participated out which 11 had bagged medal for the country.
As per a new initiative Yvak Mangal Dal will be setup across 18 thousand villages of UP. This Dal will be organizing games in villages on monthly basis in which 15 years to 27 years of youth will be eligible to participate. Latter this will expanded to rest of 55 thousand exiting villages in the state.
Under Khelo India Khelo scheme by Government of India we will be setup mini stadium on Tehsil basis with a land area of 3 to 5 acres and games like Kabaddi , Kho kho , Wrestling and athletics events will organized there.
Jobs in the 11 department of UP government will be provided to the sports man who had represented the state on International or on National level. Retired sports man and coaches who had won Arjun award, Dronacharya Award, Rani Laxmi Bai award but are still leaving a miserable life. For such sports man and coaches depending on their achievements 20 thousand rupees will be given to them per month as pension. This step of government is worth appreciating will definitively help sports man to lead his rest of life in respected manner.
“Our focus will be also on enhancing and promoting Indian games and Local games as they are lacking behind because not been given attention they way they needed ” at last added sports minister.
