New Delhi : Arvind Kejriwal today addressed a party meet on the occasion of 6th anniversary of Aam Aadmi Party. Thousands of supporters of AAP happily participated in the occasion.
Arvind Kejriwal while adressing AAP’s supporter at the party house said that,
“Prime Minister himself rewarded me with the name of ‘Honest Person of the Nation’ but when I ask people about the honesty of the Prime Minister, their words always oppose the viral praisings of our PM. We were provided with 49 days to prove our worth when we entered the state elections and those 49 days were the only reason for us to win with 67 seats out of 70 which can just be called as world class victory.”
Interestingly, this was probably the only visit of Kejriwal to the party headquarters since after 2016 Diwali.
Aam Aadmi Party is an Indian political party, formally launched on 26 November 2012, and is currently the ruling party of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
In the 2015 Delhi Legislative Assembly election, AAP won 67 of the 70 seats in the assembly. Among two national political parties, the BJP won 3 seats, while the Indian National Congress did not win any.
The party made its electoral debut in the 2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly election, where it emerged as the second-largest party, winning 28 of the 70 seats. With no party obtaining an overall majority, the AAP formed a minority government with conditional support from the Indian National Congress. A significant part of its agenda was to quickly introduce the Jan Lokpal bill in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. When it became clear after the election that the other major parties would not support this bill, the AAP government resigned. It had been in power for 49 days.
Today AAP completed 6 glorious years as a successful party in the national capital.
Being a Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has always proved to the best leader.
