New Delhi: NITI Aayog today released the second edition of ‘Healthy States, Progressive India’ report in New Delhi. The Report was released by NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Dr. Rajiv Kumar in presence of NITI Aayog Member Dr. V K Paul, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, Health Secretary Preeti Sudan and representatives from World Bank.
The report takes a comprehensive look at health in terms of health outcomes, governance and processes and impact of policy interventions. The report focuses on measuring and highlighting the overall performance and incremental improvements in these parameters over a two-year period of 2016-17 and 2017-18 in the states and Union Territories.
The report has been prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with technical assistance from the World Bank.
Releasing the second edition of “Healthy States, Progressive India” report, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Dr. Rajiv Kumar said, “The report focuses on measuring overall performance and incremental improvement of States and UTs over FY17 & FY18. NITI Aayog’s Healthy States, Progressive India report envisions to promote cross-learning between States & UTs, capturing the spirit of Cooperative & Competitive Federalism.”
“Health Index is an attempt to bring healthcare to the centre stage of policy making,” added Kumar.
