Vidya planning to do a biopic on former PM Indira Gandhi

New Delhi: The versatile actor Vidya Balan, in a recent interaction with the media revealed that she is planning to do a biopic based on the life of first woman Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. She said that it will be a web-series and it will take some time to go on the floors as the work on the story is still in process. She further revealed that the project will take at least a couple of years to eventually come to life.



The actor who has created her own niche in the film industry by doing women-centric films is nowadays preparing for another biopic film on Mathematics genius Shakuntala Devi. She has signed up for two more projects but will only talk about it after the producer makes the announcement.

Her latest performance in the film ‘Mission Mangal’ has been widely appreciated and the film is doing great business at the box-office. Vidya Balan has by far delivered some noteworthy performances and has established herself in the Bollywood.

The actor has a great acting craft and she has been the recipient of several awards, including a National Film Award, five Filmfare Awards, and five Screen Awards, and was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2014.

She had debuted in the Television industry with 1995 sitcom Hum Paanch by playing the role of one of the five sisters, who was a nerd. Balan was first noticed for her acting in Bollywood film Parineeta in 2005 opposite Saif, and was highly acclaimed by the critics. She followed it with a leading role in the highly successful 2006 comedy film Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Then, she did Paa, Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, The Dirty Picture, Kahaani and several other successful films which forms her great work profile.
