Delhi logs 5,481 fresh cases in 24 hours; positivity rate jumps to 8.37%
New Delhi, January 4: The national Capital on Tuesday reported 5,481 new COVID cases and 3 deaths in last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 1,575 Covid patients recovered during the same period.
The Positivity rate in Delhi has jumped to a chilling 8.37%. The total active caseload in Delhi is 14,889.
Delhi so far has recorded 382 Cases of Omicron Variant of which 57 patients have recovered.
Total 65,487 tests have been conducted in the Capital in last 24 hours.
Amid the steep rise in COVID-19 in Delhi, Earlier today, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) announced Weekend Curfew in the Territory, starting from this week, following which only essential movement will be allowed during the curfew.
Delhi Deputy CM Manish announced, “All govt officials except for those engaged in essential services will work from home. 50% workforce of private offices will work from home.”
He also announced, “Buses and metro trains will again run at full seating capacity to avoid crowding outside metro stations and at bus stops.”
