March 4, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a webinar on “energy for sustainable growth” highlighted that India’s energy demands will increase in the coming future and so our transition to renewable energy is a must.

Therefore, every household should develop its own solar tree.

PM Modi while addressing in the webinar said, “In the coming years, India’s energy demands will increase, therefore, we must transition to renewable energy. Every household should develop its own solar tree that can contribute to saving up to 15% electricity. It’ll not only be unique but will be environment-friendly.”

He listed a series of steps in this direction such as clean-cooking in 24-25 crore households of India; solar panels on canals, solar tree in household gardens or balconies to, possibly, get 15 per cent energy for the household from the solar-tree.

He also suggested exploring micro hydel projects to enhance electricity production.

Furthermore, the PM stated that ‘Energy for Sustainable Growth’ not only resonates with the Indian tradition but is a pathway to achieve future needs and aspirations.

He said that sustainable growth is possible only through sustainable energy sources.
