Delhi Govt To Bring Winter Action Plan to Combat Air Pollution, know details

New Delhi, 6 September 2022: Delhi Government is soon planning to introduce a winter action plan to combat the extreme air pollution that engulfs begins in November.
Gopal Rai, Delhi Environment Minister met with representatives from each of the 30 departments involved in the winter action plan in a joint session at the Delhi Secretariat. They have been directed to submit their initial reports by September 7.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Environment Department, DPCC, Development Department, Delhi Cantonment Board, CPWD, DDA, Delhi Traffic Police, Delhi Police, DTC, Revenue Department, DSIIDC, Education Department, DMRC, PWD, Transport Department, NHAI, Delhi Jal Board, DUSIB, and NDMC.
Various duties have been delegated to each department on the 15 focus points, and it is in accordance with these duties that the winter action plan will be created. By September 7, all departments must submit their preliminary findings and recommendations to the Environment Department. Upon this, the relevant department will submit a detailed action plan to the government for the winter action plan by September 15.
The winter action plan has 15 emphasis points that will be used to create the following winter action plan. It includes stubble burning, dust pollution, vehicular pollution, open waste burning, industrial pollution, hot-spot, Green War Room and Green App, real-time apportionment study, Smog tower, E-waste eco-park, Green areas/plantation, urban farming, Promoting eco club activity/public participation, Crackers, Dialogue with Central Government and neighbouring states.
