Delhi, Sept 16th, 2022: Billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani has surpassed the CEO of Louis Vuitton, Bernard Arnault on Friday to become the second richest person in the world.
According to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List, Adani and his family’s net worth as of early Friday stood at $155.4 billion against Arnault’s $155.2 billion.
He is now only behind Elon Musk whose net worth is estimated at around $273.5 billion.
According to the data, Adani’s wealth jumped $5.5 billion or 3.64 percent on Friday following a rise in Adani Group stocks, seven of which are listed on Dalal Street.
On August 30, Gautam Adani, head of the Adani group, became the world’s third richest man. It was the first instance when an Asian was ranked among the top three billionaires.
Reliance Industries Chairman and Indian business tycoon Mukesh Ambani is placed in eighth place with a net worth of $92.3 billion, behind Microsoft founder Bill Gates (net worth of $105.3 billion).
