Australia (29/10/2022): The Blackcaps beat Sri Lankans by 65 runs at Melbourne today, thanks to a brilliant knock from Glenn Phillips and a brilliant bowling performance from Trent Boult.

Batting first, New Zealand put up a score of 167/7. Glen Phillips scored 104 runs in 64 balls as other batsmen fell prey to the Sri Lankan bowlers.

The Sri Lankan team fell 65 runs short of the target. Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 34 runs off 22 balls as wickets fell quickly.

Trent Boult picked up 4 crucial wickets. Meanwhile, Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi picked up 2 wickets each.

New Zealand is currently at the top of the Group 1 points table and is all set to face England on 1st November. Ranked 5th, Sri Lanka will next take on 6th-ranked Afghanistan.
