Ukraine (29/10/2022): Attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure can mean longer power cuts in capital Kyiv.

Talking about a third of Ukraine’s electric power stations which have been destroyed, President Volodymyr Zelensky says – Ukraine’s energy infrastructure is being pounded by air attacks.

Blackouts have also affected central regions of Ukraine including the city of Dnipro.

Frequent power cuts have resulted in restrictions on the usage of street lights and electric-powered public transport.

The EU and other international allies of Kyiv have criticized the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure.

Earlier this month, Indian authorities had expressed their “deep concern” regarding the escalation of conflict in Ukraine which has led to targeting of Ukrainian infrastructure and deaths of civilians.
