Ranbir -Alia win Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Kashmir Files gets best film

Mumbai (Maharastra) February 2023: The 69th Dadasaheb Phalke Awards took place in Mumbai on Monday 20th February. The red-carpet event witnessed the presence of Bollywood celebrities including Vidya Balan, Rekha, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Anupam Kher along with Television actors like Tejasswi Prakash and South Indian Stars like Dulquer Salmaan, Rishab Shetty and many others.

The Dadasaheb Phalke Awards are the most prestigious award for the cinema industry in India. The nominees and awardees are determined by legends of the film industry. The awards are overlooked by the Government of India to reward people for their contribution in the industry. The recipient of the awards receives a Swarna Jamal medallion, a shawl and a cash prize of ₹10,00,000.

On Monday actor Alia Bhatt received the award for best actress for her extraordinary performance in the biopic Gangubai and Ranbir Kapoor, her husband, won the award for best actor for his performance in Bhramastra. Rishabh Shetty won the award for most promising actor for his work in Kantara, Varun Dhawan also received an the award of Critics best actor while Vidya Balan won the critics best actress award.

The best film award was presented to Kashmir files whereas the film of the year award was won by the Internationally acclaimed RRR. Bollywood icon Rekha received the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award for Outstanding Contribution in the Film Industry. Later Rekha was seen posing for the paparazzi with Alia Bhatt.
