New Delhi (India), 22nd March 2023: According to the Hurun Global Rich List, which was published on Wednesday, Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries (RIL) and the wealthiest man in Asia, is the only Indian to appear on the list of the top 10 billionaires in the world.
With a net value of $82 billion, Ambani led the list of billionaires in India, followed by Gautam Adani at $53 million. Third place went to Cyrus Poonawalla, whose wealth was $28 billion. Lakshmi Mittal is in fifth place with $20 billion, followed by Shiv Nadar and his family in fourth place with $27 billion.
The study also revealed that after the explosive Hindenburg Research report in January 2023, Adani lost $28 billion in wealth, or 3,000 rupees per week, in 2022–2023.
The conglomerate has refuted the allegations, which include that the Adani Group participated in blatant stock manipulation, an accounting fraud plan, improper use of offshore tax havens, and raising concerns about the group’s high debt.
However, Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon, has lost the most money in the past year. The billionaire founder has wasted more money personally than Ambani and Adani combined, totalling $70 billion.
