Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passes away, Last rites performed in Mumbai

New Delhi (India), 24th March 2023: Due to age-related illnesses, filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passed away at the age of 68, on the morning of March 24. The entire Bollywood business has been shocked by the director’s passing.

His funeral rites have started at Mumbai’s Santacruz Hindu Crematorium, where a number of famous people have come to offer their respects, including Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and others.

In 2005, Pradeep made his feature film début with Parineeta. He also produced Mardaani (2014), Helicopter Eela, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007), Lafangey Parindey (2010), and (2018). Several web series, including Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala (2019), Arranged Marriage and Forbidden Love (2020), and Duranga, were also produced by him. (2022).

His demise shocked the industry and many celebrities took to Twitter to express their grief on the situation.

Ajay Devgn took to Twitter and wrote, “The news of Pradeep Sarkar’s demise, ‘Dada’ to some of us is still hard to digest. My deepest condolences (flower bouquet). My prayers are with the departed and his family. RIP Dada.”

Neil Nitin Mukesh shared pictures with Pradeep and penned down a message saying, “DADA!!! Why??? I’ll miss you dada. Will always remember you as that child-hearted, full of life man who taught me so much. Your creation Lafangey Parindey will always remain close to my heart. My prayers with the family.”

Abhishek Bacchan, Anupam Kher, Shreya Ghoshal, Pritam, Kangana Ranaut and many others also extended their condolences and prayers for the filmmaker’s family.
