New Delhi (India), April 1, 2023: In a major relief to the commercial sector, petroleum and oil marketing companies have reduced the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs. 91.50 per unit with immediate effect from Saturday. The new prices will now make a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder cost Rs. 2,028 in the national capital. However, there have been no changes made to the prices of domestic LPG cylinders.
This reduction in prices comes as a much-needed relief for commercial entities, especially during these challenging times. The hike in commercial cylinder prices on March 1 this year by Rs. 350.50 per unit adversely affected businesses, with many struggling to cope with the increased expenses.
Earlier, on January 1, commercial cylinder prices were increased by about Rs. 25 per unit, further burdening commercial entities. However, with the recent reduction in prices, commercial entities can expect some relief in their expenses.
This is not the first time the prices of commercial LPG cylinders have been reduced. The last time the prices were reduced was on September 1, 2022, by Rs. 91.50. Prior to that, on August 1, 2022, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders were reduced by 36. Even earlier, on July 6, rates for the 19-kilogram commercial cylinder were cut by about $8.5 per unit.
With the latest reduction in prices, commercial entities can hope to continue their operations with some relief in expenses. This move by the petroleum and oil marketing companies is a welcome relief for the commercial sector.
