Mumbai (India), 15th April 2023: Shilpa Shetty, Bollywood actress and fitness enthusiast and guru, made a big investment in WickedGud, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) firm. On Monday it was announced that Shetty has invested Rs 2.25 crore in 100Percent Nourishment Pvt Ltd, a Mumbai-based company that distributes healthy delicious food products under the WickedGud brand.
The company said in a statement, “This latest investment from Shetty, a serial start-up investor known for her healthy lifestyle advocacy, follows previous funding from Titan Capital, Mumbai Angels, NB Ventures, Dholakia Ventures, Venture Catalyst, and other marquee founder angels including boAt co-founder Aman Gupta.”
WickedGud, founded in 2021 by Bhuman Dani, Monish Debnath, and Soumalya Biswas, claims to be on a mission to “unjunk” India. The brand also stated that it has grown by more than 300 percent in the last year.
WickedGud earned additional exposure on the grand finale episode of Shark Tank India Season 2, leading to a growth into international markets such as the UAE, Singapore, Mauritius, and Nepal.
