New Delhi, 21st May 2023: Following electoral successes in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, the Congress is now turning its attention to other poll-bound states in a desperate attempt to cement its support base ahead of next year’s key general elections.
On May 24, politicians from Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan will gather to strategize for the next Assembly elections. Party sources, confirm the meeting to be presided over by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.
The meeting takes place in the midst of internal disagreement among senior leaders regarding placements. Celebrations in the south were dimmed by a week-long stalemate over the Chief Ministerial seat, with two top politicians unwilling to budge.
With a power-sharing agreement between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, Congress eventually eased concerns. The party is currently involved in another similar brawl.
In Rajasthan, a belligerent Sachin Pilot has focused his guns on his own administration in order to make his political ambitions known to the higher-ups. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, the Congress’ state in-charge, has stated that the party will not remove dissidents but has reminded them of how previous leaders fared after quitting the party.
