New Delhi, 21st June 2023: On the 9th International Yoga Day, the urge to stay fit with the help of traditional Indian science has captured the fancy of entire world.
While in India several ministers and BJP leaders performed yoga in different parts of the country, many public groups across the world also organised large camps to propogate benefits of this healthier habit.
Leaders and ministers were also joined by citizens across the country to celebrate the day. President Droupadi Murmu partook in the Yoga event at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.
PM Modi who is currently on a state visit to the US, would be performing Yoga later today at the UN headquarters in New York.
Vice President Jagadeep Dhankhar performed yoga with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur. At the same time Defence Minister Rajnath Singh performed yoga with personnel of the Indian Navy onboard India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant in Kochi.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya participated the International Yoga Day celebrations at AIIMS Delhi.
BJP National President JP Nadda performed yoga at a stadium in Gurugram, while the Road and Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari, joined hundreds of civilians in an event in Nagpur.
This comes as the theme for the International Day of Yoga 2023 is ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘Yoga for the Welfare of All as One World-One Family.’
The country also woke up to PM Modi extending his greetings and delivering a strong message unity inner vision on the 9th Yoga Day.
He further added that all Indians have welcomed new ideas and conserved them while celebrating the rich Indian diversity.
