Mumbai, 05th July 2023: The authorities at the Narcotics Control Bureau asserted that the former zonal director of the agency, Saneer Wankhede, cannot use his chats with actor Shah Rukh Khan as evidence of his integrity since he kept these chats “secret.”
The federal agency stated that Wankhede had no reason to continue such conversations with Khan without telling his superiors. It appeared the now-suspended officer made “many” calls to the actor.
In an affidavit filed in the Bombay high court last month, the Indian Revenue Service officer, who is now facing a CBI probe for allegedly demanding 25 crores from Khan for not framing the latter’s son Aryan in a drugs case, shared his conversations with the actor to counter the allegations of extortion. Wankhede alleged that during the talks, the actor commended his integrity.
On June 17, NCB issued a 92-page document in response to his claims.
According to the talks, Wankhede has “on numerous occasions made calls to Shah Rukh Khan.” “It cannot be said what transpired in those calls,” it continued.
The federal agency also revealed in its affidavit that Wankhede, despite leaving NCB, remained in “regular touch” with a deputy legal advisor to “manipulate the outcome” of the Aryan Khan investigation and “extract sensitive information” about the case.
