Galgotias University conducts One-Day Workshop on Virtual Labs
Today, the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Galgotias University successfully organized a “One-Day Workshop on Virtual Labs” as part of an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The event was conducted by IIT Kanpur.
Professor (Dr.) Kantesh Balani from IIT Kanpur graced the workshop as the chief guest. Dr. Balani, who is also the principal investigator of the Virtual Labs project, presented a very informative session and emphasized on the significance of virtual laboratories in the educational environment. He also highlighted the importance of learning and creating, stating that while we gain theoretical knowledge in physical classrooms, laboratories enable us to apply our knowledge to real-world problems and gain practical experience. Virtual laboratories allow us to gain practical experience and conduct experiments in a simulated environment.
Participants also gained significant knowledge from technical sessions conducted by experts Suman Tripathi, Vinay Tripathi, and Dhananjay Umrao. This workshop marked an important step towards enhancing practical knowledge and technical skills among students and faculty through the innovative use of virtual labs. The program provided an interactive platform for learning and collaboration, promoting a deeper understanding of the applications of virtual labs in various fields of engineering and technology.
Speaking on the importance of the Virtual Lab Workshop, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, stated that the interactive simulations and real-time feedback mechanisms offered in the virtual lab environment have greatly enhanced our understanding of complex concepts. This initiative by the Ministry of Education through the National Mission on Education through ICT highlights the benefits and applications of virtual lab technology in education. It is a commendable step towards making quality education accessible, safe, and engaging for learners across the country.
