EPCH marks presence in Index Saudi Arabia at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

New Delhi – 18th September’2024 – “Index Saudi Arabia”, 2024 got underway at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the EPCH India Pavilion was inaugurated by Deputy Chief of Mission, Abu Mathen George and Ms. Manusmriti, Counsellor (Economic & Commerce) in the presence member exhibitors. The fair is being held from 17 – 19 September’ 2024. India has a great opportunity to display its unparalleled diversity, rich culture, and long tradition of arts and crafts on a large stage like Index Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Council has organized participation of member exporters and artisans from different parts of the country informed Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director – EPCH.

Abu Mathen George, Deputy Chief of Mission, along with other senior official interacted with member participants and assured all support in future business promotions.

Dileep Baid, Chairman-EPCH said that Index Saudi Arabia is the longest-running interiors event in the Middle East, trusted by companies and brands all over the world. The fair is bringing together the international design, home decor and lifestyle community under one roof. India’s participation will add to the fair’s vibrancy and diversity, as well as familiarise global manufacturers, retailers, and brands with the robust entrepreneurship in the Indian textiles, home furnishing, and consumer products industries, opening up opportunities for sourcing from India.

R. K. Verma, Executive Director – EPCH said in this edition, member exporters are displaying Home Décor, Gifts, Candles, Incenses, Household Products Decorative etc are participating. To promote Indian Handicrafts, EPCH has setup Thematic Display with live demonstration of Indian Traditional Crafts by Master Craftspersons / Artisans. The office of Development Commissioner [Handicrafts] has deputed 5 Master Craftsmen of Marble Inlay from Agra, Usta Art on Camel Leather from Bikaner, Bone Carving from Lucknow, Palm Leaf from Orissa and Horn & Bone Craft from Jodhpur.

EPCH is a nodal agency for promoting exports of handicrafts from the Country to various destinations of the world and projecting India’s image abroad as reliable supplier of high quality of handicrafts. The Handicrafts exports during the year 2023-24 was Rs. 32,759 Crores (US $ 3,956 Million) registering a growth of 9.13% in rupee term & 6.11% in dollar terms over the previous year. The exports of handicrafts items to Saudi Arabia during the year 2023-24 is Rs. 525.65 Crores (US $ 63.46 Million) informed by Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director-EPCH
