This spring edition has been thoughtfully curated to bring out the best of India’s handcrafted legacy while aligning with global demands for eco-conscious products. Exhibitors will unveil fresh designs, introduce start-up innovations, and highlight regional collections focused on decor and utility, he said.
Live craft demonstrations will offer visitors a peek into traditional techniques such as Madhubani painting, metal engraving, lac bangle making, and Pashmina weaving. Contributions from NIFT, NID, and IIT alumni will showcase cutting-edge designs rooted in sustainability and circularity.
India as a Preferred Sourcing Destination Amidst Global Trade Shifts
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chief Mentor of EPCH and Chairman of IEML, acknowledged the shifting global trade dynamics, especially the impact of recent US tariffs. Despite tariff changes, India remains competitive compared to peers like China and Vietnam, he said. We see continued enthusiasm from American buyers. This presents an opportune moment for India to pursue a Bilateral Trade Agreement with the US to further strengthen trade ties.
Celebrating Artisanal Heritage with Modern Flair
Vice Chairman Dr. Neeraj Khanna underscored the synergy of tradition and innovation at the fair. From rustic charm to contemporary design, our artisans are redefining the possibilities of natural materials like wood, stone, and fiber, he stated. Across product categories, the emphasis is not just on sustainability as a concept but as a key differentiator in the global marketplace.
Inclusive Participation from India’s Handicraft Ecosystem
Mr. Sagar Mehta, Vice Chairman II of EPCH, highlighted the inclusivity of the fair’s exhibitor base—ranging from artisan entrepreneurs and small-scale units to large-scale exporters and design houses. The fair gives buyers direct access to producers from every region of India, offering unmatched variety and competitive pricing, he said.
Cultural Showcases, Knowledge Sessions, and Fashion Runways
To enhance the trade fair experience, IHGF Spring 2025 will also feature cultural showcases such as live craft zones, knowledge seminars, display awards, and thematic presentations. Fashion shows will spotlight India’s artisanal couture, jewellery, and accessories in a modern avatar. A special pavilion will commemorate EPCH’s 40-year journey of promoting the Indian handicrafts sector globally.
Mr. Nirmal Bhandari, President of the Reception Committee, added, This fair is not just a sourcing hub—it’s a celebration of Indian craftsmanship and creativity. Visitors will have access to over 3,000 booths and the 900 permanent showrooms housed within the Mart complex.
Strong Global and Domestic Buyer Presence
EPCH Executive Director Mr. R. K. Verma noted the robust international participation this year. We’ve conducted extensive global outreach through trade magazines, digital portals, embassies, and online campaigns, he said. Buyers from the USA, UK, France, Germany, Japan, UAE, Australia, Brazil, and more have already confirmed participation. Renowned retailers and buying groups such as Amazon, FabIndia, Westside, Reliance Retail, Chumbak, and The Oberoi Hotels are among the domestic giants expected to attend.
Confirmed international names include Garcia Regueira (Argentina), L&M Home (Australia), La Maison (France), Zefina (Denmark), Nitori (Japan), Bizzotto Spa (Italy), Danube Home (UAE), and VCNY Home (USA), among many others.
A Promising Outlook for Indian Handicrafts Exports
EPCH reported provisional handicrafts exports of Rs. 33,490.79 crores (approx. USD 3.96 billion) for the year 2024-25. With events like IHGF Delhi Fair continuing to attract global attention, the outlook for the sector remains optimistic.
