Greater Noida (14 June 2025): The I Business Institute (IBI), Greater Noida, hosted its grand Convocation Ceremony for the PGDM Batch of 2023–2025, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of its students. The event was graced by a distinguished lineup of dignitaries, including Dr. Kiran Bedi, India’s first woman IPS officer and Former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, who delivered an inspiring keynote address as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony took place on the institute campus and was attended by faculty, students, parents, and esteemed guests from the corporate and academic sectors. Among the notable guests was Mr. Pronam Chatterjee, Founder and CEO of BluePi, who felicitated students with their graduation diplomas, and Mr. Siddharth Koul, Early Careers Recruiting Lead – India & APAC, Fidelity International, who served as Guest of Honour.
A Powerful Message from Dr. Kiran Bedi: “Intuition Over Intellect”
In her heartfelt address, Dr. Bedi focused on the value of self-awareness, ethical living, and inner strength in the age of artificial intelligence. She emphasized that while AI may possess immense computational intellect, it lacks the emotional depth, values, and intuition that define human beings.
Artificial Intelligence is merely intellect. What makes you unique is your intuition—something AI can never replicate, she said, encouraging students to rely on their inner guidance and reflective thinking when making important life decisions. She highlighted the importance of minimizing mistakes by learning from them and cultivating moral clarity. Using a metaphorical reference to the Kumbh Mela, she said, Learn from your mistakes, minimize them, so you don’t have to visit Kumbh Mela as penance for your wrongdoings. Go there for spiritual growth and family tradition, not for redemption.
Dr. Bedi also urged the students to prioritize meditation as a form of “career armor,” to maintain mental clarity and inner balance.
On Relationships, Finances, and Simplicity
In a candid segment, Dr. Bedi spoke about the importance of wise decision-making in personal relationships. She urged students to choose their life partners thoughtfully, warning against emotional impulsiveness, Your life partner can be your greatest support—or your biggest mistake. Be honest with your family, and don’t commit to a relationship that carries enmity or resentment.
She addressed recent societal issues, including misuse of trust in relationships, and advised students to represent themselves with dignity and truth. On financial discipline, she advised young professionals to adopt prudent money habits early in their careers, Start saving from your first salary. Create a pension account for your future. Don’t spend to impress. Live simply and grow steadily.
She also emphasized the emotional importance of one’s roots, Preserve your ancestral village and property. Those places hold your history and memories—never treat them as a burden.
A Message of Gratitude and Karma
Dr. Bedi reminded the graduates to remain grateful for the support of their families and institutions. She urged them to give credit where it is due, If someone asks where you learned your values, proudly say: ‘This institute taught me.’ That’s good karma. She concluded by reinforcing the importance of humility, learning from others’ experiences, and maintaining strong moral grounding in both professional and personal life.
Guest of Honour Siddharth Koul: “Manage Your Success with Humility”
In his motivational address, Mr. Siddharth Koul provided insights on career growth and personal development. He reminded graduates that life’s most cherished moments often come unplanned, The best moments in life are often unplanned. So don’t fear uncertainty—embrace it with openness and enthusiasm.
He emphasized the dual responsibility of managing both finances and success and advised graduates to be mindful of their conduct, Your actions are always being observed in the workplace. Maintain a balance between who you are and what your organization expects you to be.
Using a powerful metaphor, he compared life’s challenges to boiling water, in the same boiling water, an egg hardens while a potato softens. Life is the boiling water—you must decide what you want to become.
A Day of Inspiration and Reflection
The convocation ceremony was a blend of celebration, wisdom, and inspiration. With the presence of renowned thought leaders and corporate mentors, the event left a lasting impression on the young graduates, equipping them with not only academic credentials but also life lessons that will guide them through the complexities of the professional world.
The management of I Business Institute expressed gratitude to all the guests, families, and participants who made the event a memorable one. As the ceremony concluded, the graduates walked away not only with degrees in hand but with a renewed sense of purpose and a vision for a balanced, ethical, and fulfilling future.
