GIMS Greater Noida Conducts 2-Day EMT Refresher Training to Strengthen Emergency Medical Services

Greater Noida News (29 November 2025): The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, successfully organized a comprehensive two-day Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Refresher Training program on 27th and 28th November 2025 at Charak Hall, GIMS. The program aimed to enhance the practical skills, clinical knowledge, and emergency response capabilities of EMTs serving across various hospitals.
A total of 31 EMTs participated in the training, which commenced with a pre-test and an introductory session designed to set the stage for an interactive and engaging learning experience. The refresher course was meticulously organized by GIMS VIDYA SETU under the guidance of Dr. (Brig) Rakesh Gupta, Director of GIMS, ensuring a structured and outcome-oriented program.
The sessions featured expert faculty members from diverse medical specialties, including Dr. Samiksha Khanooja, Dr. Sonal Singh, Dr. Suman Tiwari, Dr. Bhumika, Dr. Pallavi Mehra, Dr. Diksha, Dr. Krishna, Dr. Darpan, Neha Singh, and Prasidh Pathak. They delivered in-depth lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and practical insights into emergency patient care, equipping participants with the latest techniques and protocols.

Throughout the two-day program, participants engaged in interactive workshops, clinical rounds in the emergency unit, and exposure to critical care areas. The training emphasized essential areas such as safe patient transfer methods, principles of handover and takeover, the significance of professional appearance and ID protocols, pre-hospital emergency care practices, as well as discipline and effective communication in high-pressure emergency situations.
In his concluding address, Dr. (Brig) Rakesh Gupta motivated the participants to continuously upgrade their skills and reaffirmed the vital role EMTs play in delivering timely and effective medical care to the community.
The successful completion of the EMT refresher training underscores the commitment of GIMS to strengthen emergency medical services and ensure that healthcare professionals are well-prepared to respond to critical situations with efficiency and expertise.
