Galgotias University Selected as Nodal Centre for Smart India Hackathon 2025

Greater Noida, December 6, 2025: Galgotias University has been selected as one of the nodal centres for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025, being organised by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The national initiative aims to promote youth-driven innovation and provide a platform for students from across the country to develop technology-based solutions for real-world challenges.

Speaking to Ten News, a senior representative of Galgotias University informed that the university will host the five-day “Smart India Hackathon – Hardware Edition” from 8th to 12th December, 2025. Problem statements have been issued by four key ministries including the Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and AICTE.

This is the seventh time that Galgotias University has been selected to host the Smart India Hackathon. More than 120 students, supported by 25 mentors and 20+ participating teams, will be attending the event at the Greater Noida campus.

The university has arranged accommodation, facilities and hospitality for all participants. “Under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a Viksit Bharat by 2047, Galgotias University is committed to contributing through innovation-led problem solving for various ministries,” the official added.

The hackathon is expected to highlight real-world problem-solving abilities, teamwork and lifelong learning skills of the participating students. The university also expressed gratitude to AICTE for giving Galgotias the opportunity to host the event once again.
