GIMS Greater Noida Welcomes MBBS Batch of 2025 with White Coat and Oath-Taking Ceremony

GREATER NOIDA News (08/12/2025): The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, held a grand White Coat and Oath-Taking Ceremony to formally induct the MBBS Batch of 2025 into the medical profession. The event marked a significant milestone for the 7th cohort of MBBS students, symbolizing the beginning of their academic and clinical journey.

The ceremony took place at Sanjeevani Hall in the GIMS Academic Block, where the incoming batch was welcomed with warmth and encouragement. GIMS Director, Dr. Brig. Rakesh Gupta, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of the day, reiterating the institute’s commitment to quality and excellence in medical education. He urged students to uphold the highest standards of professionalism as they embark on their medical careers.

Dr. Rambha Pathak, Dean of Academics, presented the College Report and extended her heartfelt greetings to the new students. She advised them to pursue their studies with diligence, empathy, and a sense of responsibility toward patient care.

The ceremony was graced by Prof. Syed Amjad Ali Rizvi, Principal, JNMC, AMU Aligarh, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, he highlighted the noble responsibilities associated with the profession and reminded students of the trust that society places in medical practitioners. He encouraged them to serve with compassion, integrity, and ethical commitment. Prof. Rajeev Varshney, Dean Academics, Gautam Buddha University, participated as the Guest of Honour.

The program was coordinated by Dr. Aprajita Panwar, Officer In-Charge, Academic Block, and hosted by Dr. Aniruddh Saxena, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine.

The highlight of the ceremony was the moment each student received the symbolic white coat—an emblem of medical ethics, responsibility, and service. The ceremony concluded with the traditional Charak Oath, administered by the Director and faculty members, in which students pledged to uphold ethical medical practice and prioritize patient welfare throughout their careers.

The event was attended by senior faculty members including Dr. Ranjana Verma, Dr. P.S. Mittal, Dr. Manisha Singh, Dr. Archana Gupta, Dr. Ijen Bhattacharya, Dr. Bharti Bhandari, Dr. B.S. Yadav, Dr. Satendra, Dr. Brij Mohan, Dr. A.S. Sahni, Dr. Vikas Saxena, along with other faculty, staff, and parents.

With its blend of tradition, inspiration, and academic induction, the White Coat Ceremony reaffirmed GIMS’s resolve to nurture competent, compassionate, and ethically grounded healthcare professionals dedicated to serving society with distinction.
