Greater Noida News (25/12/2025): Delhi Public School (DPS), NTPC Vidyut Nagar, celebrated its Annual Day with great enthusiasm and cultural richness, bringing together students, parents, teachers, and distinguished guests. The event, held under the guidance of Principal Poonam Dua, was not merely a display of talent but a meaningful reflection on education, values, and shared responsibility in shaping the future generation.

The programme was graced by CGM, NTPC and Guest of Honour Abhay Mishra, who addressed the gathering with an inspiring and thought-provoking speech rooted deeply in Indian culture and philosophy. His address left a lasting impression on students, parents, and educators alike.

While addressing the audience, Abhay Mishra said, An annual school programme is not just a celebration; it is a guiding light towards the future. What you learn here—your academics, discipline, and daily conduct—will define the journey of your life. He emphasized that students are the foundation of the nation and compared them to seeds that must grow, flourish, and bear fruit—not only for themselves but also for their families, teachers, institutions, and society at large.

Highlighting the essence of Indian wisdom, Mishra quoted the famous Sanskrit verse: “Vidya dadati vinayam, vinayat yati patratam…” and explained that true education nurtures humility, acceptance, prosperity, and ultimately happiness. He stressed that education is not merely about marks or degrees but about character building and moral strength.

Knowledge is a treasure that never diminishes. It cannot be stolen, it does not decay, and when shared, it only multiplies, he remarked, calling DPS a great treasure of learning. Abhay Mishra also spoke about the importance of continuous self-improvement, comparing personal growth to filling a pot drop by drop. He urged students to believe in consistency, patience, and perseverance, stating that success is achieved gradually through sustained effort.

Drawing parallels from the Bhagavad Gita, he highlighted the role of mentorship and righteous decision-making, describing Lord Krishna as the greatest mentor and Arjuna as the ideal disciple. He explained how the Gita teaches clarity, courage, and commitment to dharma—the righteous path.

Choosing the right path is never easy, but in the long run, it is always rewarding. Discipline and righteousness may seem difficult today, but they shape a stronger tomorrow, he told the students.

Further enriching his address, Abhay Mishra narrated episodes from the Ramayana, underlining the values of courage, sacrifice, and choosing difficult yet ethical paths. Through these stories, he conveyed that greatness lies in embracing challenges rather than avoiding them.

He also appreciated the students’ performances, stating that schools play a crucial role not only in imparting knowledge but also in developing confidence, physical fitness, expression, and leadership qualities. Education refines behavior, builds humility, and prepares individuals to stand confidently before any gathering. What the students showcased today reflects strong mentoring and disciplined upbringing, he added.

The Annual Day celebration concluded with resounding applause, as the audience warmly acknowledged the students’ performances and the profound message delivered by the Guest of Honour. The event reinforced the belief that education, culture, and collective guidance are the true pillars of a meaningful and successful life.
