Greater Noida News (28/12/2025): In a landmark step towards transforming public healthcare through technology, the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Government Hospital, Greater Noida, is set to launch India’s first AI Clinic embedded within a government hospital on January 2. The initiative is being established through the hospital’s Centre for Medical Innovation (CMI) and aims to create a robust ecosystem where clinicians, startups, and academic institutions work together to develop, test, and deploy artificial intelligence solutions in real clinical environments.

The AI Clinic represents a pioneering model in which innovation is not separated from healthcare delivery but integrated directly into a functioning government hospital. This approach ensures that AI-based solutions are clinically relevant, ethically deployed, and aligned with patient safety and real-world medical workflows. Applications from startups and innovators have already been invited, offering them early access to this unique hospital-based validation platform.

As part of the initiative, IIT Kanpur has joined as the ecosystem partner, providing academic mentorship, technical expertise, and incubation support. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research, technological development, and on-ground healthcare delivery, strengthening India’s AI-driven MedTech ecosystem.

Key Features of the AI Clinic

* India’s first AI Clinic established inside a government hospital

* Regular monthly engagements facilitating collaboration between clinicians and startups

* Structured pathways for real-world testing, validation, and deployment of AI solutions

* Strong emphasis on doctor data governance, patient safety, and ethical use of AI

* Academic and technical backing through IIT Kanpur

The launch event will feature insights from leading national and international experts in healthcare and artificial intelligence.

* Dr. Siva Kumar, Senior Clinician, NHS Trust, London (UK), will share global perspectives on AI adoption in healthcare systems.

* Dr. Archana, Consultant, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), will focus on patient safety, ethics, doctor data protection, and responsible AI deployment.

The Director of GIMS Government Hospital will present the public hospital leadership perspective on integrating AI into government healthcare systems. The session will be moderated by Dr. Rahul Singh – Amritraj, CEO of the GIMS Medical Incubator (CMI), who will steer discussions on doctor data governance and the practical deployment of AI in clinical practice.

By embedding the AI Clinic within GIMS Government Hospital, the institution is positioning itself as a national model for AI-led innovation in public healthcare. The initiative ensures that emerging AI technologies are clinically validated before large-scale adoption, ethically sound, patient-centric, and seamlessly integrated into everyday clinical workflows.

The AI Clinic also aims to offer a scalable and replicable framework that can be adopted by government hospitals across India, strengthening the country’s public health infrastructure through responsible and evidence-based use of artificial intelligence.

The Centre for Medical Innovation (CMI) at GIMS Government Hospital is India’s first medical incubator based within a public hospital, operating under the Department of Medical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh. CMI focuses on clinical validation, translational research, and MedTech entrepreneurship, enabling startups and innovators to develop healthcare solutions that are safe, effective, and ready for real-world deployment.

With IIT Kanpur as its ecosystem partner, CMI provides startups working on AI healthcare solutions with access to mentorship, technical guidance, and incubation support, reinforcing GIMS Government Hospital’s leadership in MedTech and AI-driven healthcare innovation.
