GBU Hosts National Seminar on Emerging Trends in Health and Medical Biotechnology

Greater Noida News (27/02/2026): Gautam Buddha University, through its School of Biotechnology, successfully organized a one-day national seminar titled “Advancing Frontiers in Health & Medical Biotechnology” at the International Convention Centre. The seminar focused on recent breakthroughs and future directions in health and medical biotechnology, drawing participation from leading scientists, academicians, and young researchers.

The academic event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 130 students and research scholars, who actively engaged with experts on advanced research themes including regenerative medicine, organoid technology, tumor biology, biomarker discovery, and the application of artificial intelligence in public health.

The seminar began with an inaugural address by Registrar Prof. Chandar Kumar Singh, who highlighted the pivotal role of biotechnology in reshaping modern healthcare systems. He emphasized that such academic platforms are essential for bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world scientific innovation, enabling students to gain direct exposure to contemporary research.

Welcoming the dignitaries and participants, Dean of the School of Biotechnology, Prof. Dhanlaxami, stated that the seminar was designed to familiarize students with rapidly evolving research areas. She underlined the importance of nurturing a strong research mindset and encouraging interdisciplinary learning to prepare students for future scientific challenges.

The keynote address was delivered by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rana Pratap Singh, who provided in-depth insights into tumor heterogeneity and its implications for precision medicine. He stressed that understanding tumor complexity is crucial for developing personalized therapeutic strategies and encouraged young researchers to adopt integrative approaches across disciplines.

The technical sessions featured renowned speakers from premier institutions. Dr. Savneet Kaur from Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences and Prof. Sujata Mohanty from All India Institute of Medical Sciences shared their work on liver organoids and cartilage regeneration. Prof. Ritu Kulshreshtha and Dr. Sachin Kumar B from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi discussed advances in biomarker discovery, while Dr. Santosh S. Mathapati from Translational Health Science and Technology Institute spoke on regenerative therapeutics.

The afternoon sessions continued with expert talks by Dr. Harpreet Singh from Indian Council of Medical Research, along with Dr. Anwar Alam and Ms. Bandana Kaur from Sharda University. Their presentations focused on tuberculosis drug targeting strategies and the growing role of artificial intelligence in strengthening public health systems.

In addition to expert lectures, the seminar featured a poster session and oral presentations by students and research scholars, with awards presented to outstanding contributors. The high level of interaction, insightful discussions, and probing questions from participants reflected the seminar’s success in promoting scientific inquiry and innovation.

The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem, marking a successful and intellectually enriching academic gathering at Gautam Buddha University.
