GIMS Greater Noida Welcomes New MD/MS Batch with Inspiring Induction Programme

Greater Noida News (17/03/2026): The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, organized an induction programme for its newly admitted MD and MS postgraduate students, marking the official beginning of their advanced medical education journey. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge and learning, followed by a formal welcome of dignitaries, faculty members, and students.

In his inaugural address, Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh Gupta, Director of Government Institute of Medical Sciences, warmly welcomed the new batch and emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and compassion in medical practice. He encouraged students to actively participate in academics, clinical responsibilities, and research throughout their course.

The Chief Guest, Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Amit Devgan (Retd.), congratulated the students and highlighted the growing responsibilities of healthcare professionals in today’s dynamic environment. He stressed the importance of continuous learning, ethical medical practice, teamwork, and patient-centered care, motivating students to strive for excellence and lifelong service.

Dr. Rambha Pathak, Dean Academics, presented the annual academic report, outlining the institution’s strong performance in university examinations, research publications, and participation in national and international academic forums by both students and faculty.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Saurabh Srivastava, CMS, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty, organizers, and participants for making the event successful.
