Greater Noida News (28 March 2026): IILM University inaugurated the 13th International Conference on “Responsible Management in the Age of AI: Driving Resilience, Ethics, and Sustainable Impact”, bringing together a distinguished gathering of academicians, industry leaders, policymakers, sustainability experts, and students from across the country. The two-day conference, being held on March 27–28, 2026, aims to examine how management education and business leadership must evolve in response to the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence while maintaining a strong ethical foundation.

The conference is being organized by the School of Management at IILM University in collaboration with PRME Chapter India and UN Global Compact Network India. It serves as a vital platform for dialogue on aligning technological innovation with responsible governance, sustainability, and long-term societal impact.

The inaugural session began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Nihar Amonkar, Acting Vice-Chancellor and Director of the School of Management. In his address, he highlighted the importance of creating responsible leaders who can navigate the complexities of an AI-driven world while remaining grounded in ethical values.

A keynote address was delivered by Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, former Director General and CEO of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, who is widely regarded as a pioneer in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in India. He emphasized the growing need for businesses to integrate sustainability into their core strategies and adopt responsible practices that create long-term value for society.

The Chief Guest, Dr. P. Dwarkanath, Chancellor of IILM University, Gurugram, delivered a compelling address on ethical leadership in the age of AI. He stated that while technology continues to redefine possibilities, it is ultimately human values and judgment that determine what is acceptable. He stressed that future leaders must balance mission with morality and move beyond profit-centric approaches to embrace the philosophy of “profits with purpose.”

Dr. Dwarkanath cautioned against the rise of what he termed “artificial leadership,” which lacks empathy and human sensitivity. He introduced the concept of the “4Ts” as a framework for responsible leadership and highlighted that trust will be the key differentiator for organizations in the AI era. He further elaborated that meaningful leadership is driven by measurable impact, noting that without accountability and real-world outcomes, leadership efforts remain merely theoretical.

A major highlight of the conference was the launch of the Centre for Purpose, an initiative designed to help students align their career aspirations with personal values, social responsibility, and ethical leadership. The initiative is being led by Dr. Avijit Chakraborty. Alongside this, the conference also hosted the Local Social Impact Awards, recognizing individuals and non-governmental organizations for their impactful contributions at the grassroots level.

Among the awardees, Nupur Bharadwaj, Founder and CEO of LECIN, was honored with the Social Impact Excellence Award. In her address, she shared how her journey in education was shaped by her family’s values and further transformed through grassroots engagement with communities in Okhla. She explained that LECIN follows a facilitation-based model, working closely with Anganwadis and government schools while ensuring that ownership of educational initiatives remains within the community. She emphasized that local community members serve as powerful role models and are key to driving sustainable change.

The conference also featured an engaging academic panel discussion titled “Implementing Responsible Management Education in B-Schools: Insights and Learnings,” moderated by Dr. Neeta Mathur. The discussion focused on integrating ethical frameworks and responsible leadership practices into business school curricula. Panelists highlighted that while AI is transforming industries at an unprecedented pace, human values such as empathy, ethical reasoning, and accountability must remain central to management education.

Another key highlight was the high-impact industry panel on “Balancing Profit, Purpose, and Planet in a De-globalized World.” The panel brought together senior leaders from leading organizations including IRB Infrastructure, HCLTech, Accenture, Suzlon, and SAP India. The panelists discussed the growing importance of sustainability and emphasized that aligning business strategies with environmental and social goals is no longer optional but essential for long-term success.

In addition, the conference hosted a distinguished panel on ethical leadership in the AI era, featuring renowned experts such as Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Dr. Vishal Talwar, Prof. D. P. Goyal, Dr. Chandrika Parmar, and Dr. Mayank Dhaundiyal. The experts deliberated on the practical application of responsible leadership frameworks, including the “4Ts,” and stressed the need for ethical decision-making as AI continues to reshape both academia and the corporate world.

The first day of the conference concluded with a thought-provoking fireside chat titled “Clean Air, Living Rivers: Can Communities and AI Fix Our Cities?” The discussion explored how technological innovation, when combined with community participation, can address pressing environmental challenges and contribute to sustainable urban development.

The event witnessed active participation from prominent academicians and institutional leaders such as Dr. Ravi Jain and Dr. Bigyan P. Verma, along with faculty members, researchers, and students, reflecting a strong collective commitment to advancing responsible management education.

As a United Nations-supported initiative, PRME continues to provide a global framework for embedding ethics, sustainability, and responsibility into management education. Through this conference, IILM University has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing future leaders who are not only technologically adept but also ethically conscious and socially responsible, capable of driving meaningful and sustainable change in an AI-driven world.
