Bharat Shiksha Expo Can Shape Students’ Future Through Skills & Career Guidance: Anil Pratham, IPS | India Expo Mart

Greater Noida News (14/05/2026): The third edition of Bharat Shiksha Expo 2026 commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, bringing together leading educators, policymakers, institutions, industry experts and thousands of students under one roof. The three-day mega education and career guidance event, being organised from May 14 to 16, aims to help students make informed academic and career choices in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven world.

The inaugural session was attended by prominent dignitaries including Sudeep Sarcar, CEO of India Exposition Mart Ltd. (IEML); Dr. Zahir Khan, Chairman of the Federation of Education in India (FOEII); Anil Pratham, IPS and Chairperson of the Advisory Board of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation; and Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura, Advisor at NSDC, along with academicians, institutional leaders and senior officials.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Anil Pratham, IPS, Chairperson of the Advisory Board of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation, appreciated the organisers for creating a meaningful platform dedicated to students, skill development and career guidance.

I would like to thank the organisers of this expo for creating such a wonderful and impactful exhibition. A large number of students and participants from different sectors have gathered here, which clearly reflects the growing importance of education, skills and career guidance in today’s world, he said.

Welcoming the distinguished guests present at the event, he acknowledged the contributions of experts from various sectors who are guiding students toward future opportunities in education, media, technology and skill development.

Anil Pratham further shared insights from his professional journey as an IPS officer of the 1989 batch from the Gujarat cadre and his experience of working closely with youth, education and skill development initiatives during his tenure in public service.

I had the opportunity to serve in several important assignments related to education, skills and youth development. Young people today are looking for proper career guidance and opportunities that can help them shape their future. Events like Bharat Shiksha Expo can make a significant difference in their lives, he stated.

Recalling his experience as Principal of the Police Training College in Junagadh, Gujarat, he highlighted the importance of specialised training and skill-oriented learning.

When students enter a specialised professional environment, they need guidance on how to adapt to the culture of the organisation and achieve both personal and professional aspirations. Skill development and practical exposure play a crucial role in this process, he added.

He also stressed the growing significance of emerging technologies and modern sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, forensic science, cybercrime investigation and system-driven technologies, stating that these fields are rapidly transforming industries, including the education sector.

In today’s era, Artificial Intelligence, digital systems, laboratories, forensic science and cyber security are becoming essential across all sectors. Students must understand these emerging areas and prepare themselves with the right skills to stay relevant in the future job market, he remarked.

Encouraging students to actively participate in the expert sessions and workshops scheduled during the three-day expo, Anil Pratham said the event would help students understand future career pathways and choose suitable courses and skills according to their interests and aspirations.

The expert sessions over the next three days will be highly beneficial for students. They will gain clarity about which courses to pursue, what skills they should acquire and which industries or service sectors they can explore in the future, he said.

Concluding his address, he congratulated the organisers and extended his best wishes to all participating institutions, speakers and students.

The three-day expo will feature innovation-driven activities including hackathons, codethons, agrithons, AI-focused discussions, SciTech quizzes, design-thinking workshops and career counselling sessions aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Organisers believe that Bharat Shiksha Expo 2026 will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between education, skills and employability while preparing students for emerging opportunities in sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, data science, engineering, medicine, management, liberal arts and vocational education.
