Greater Noida News (17 May 2026): India’s hospitality industry is rapidly emerging as one of the country’s fastest-growing employment sectors, creating vast career opportunities for young professionals and aspiring hotel management students. FHRAI Institute of Hotel Management, affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology and associated with the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India, is playing a significant role in preparing students for the evolving demands of the global hospitality industry through industry-driven education and practical skill development.
Speaking to Ten News Network, Dr. Sitesh Srivastava, Director, FHRAI IHM highlighted the institute’s unique foundation and strong industry integration. He stated that FHRAI IHM has been established by hoteliers themselves under the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India, which has a network of nearly 8,000 hoteliers across the country. This strong industry association, he noted, provides students with direct exposure to real-world hospitality operations and creates valuable connections with leading hotel and restaurant groups.
Dr. Srivastava emphasized that the hospitality sector is expected to generate nearly 6 to 8 crore jobs in India over the next decade, making it one of the most promising industries for employment and economic growth. He pointed out that the sector currently contributes around 2.5 percent to India’s GDP and remains among the country’s major foreign exchange earners. He further added that India is expected to witness a substantial rise in international tourism, with nearly 10 crore foreign tourists projected to visit the country in the coming years.
Highlighting the rapid expansion of the hotel industry, Dr. Srivastava stated that approximately 40 to 50 new five-star hotels are opening across India every year. This continuous growth, he said, is creating a strong demand for professionally trained and skilled hospitality experts, offering tremendous career opportunities for young aspirants.
Addressing concerns regarding artificial intelligence and automation, Dr. Srivastava remarked that the hospitality sector remains fundamentally people-centric. While technology and AI can improve operational efficiency and streamline services, he stressed that they cannot replace the warmth, empathy, and personalized human interaction that define the hospitality experience.
He also underlined the industry’s remarkable career growth potential, stating that dedicated individuals with strong communication skills, professional attitude, and commitment can achieve rapid success in the field. According to him, many hospitality professionals attain leadership roles such as hotel general managers at a relatively young age, often in their early thirties.
Discussing post-pandemic transformations in the hospitality sector, Dr. Srivastava observed that hotels are increasingly adopting technology-enabled and contactless services to improve guest convenience and operational efficiency. Digital payments, facial recognition-based room access, and digital ordering systems are now becoming standard practices across modern hospitality establishments.
Focusing on student development, he said that FHRAI IHM places special emphasis on communication skills, personality development, etiquette, grooming, and professional behavior. The institute regularly conducts soft skills and communication training sessions to ensure students are industry-ready and capable of meeting international hospitality standards.
Speaking about global exposure opportunities, Dr. Srivastava revealed that the institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Marriott International, under which students are sent to Mauritius annually for internships and practical industry exposure. He further shared that the institute is exploring additional collaborations with hospitality sectors in countries such as New Zealand, Australia, and Canada to expand international career opportunities for students.
Encouraging young students to consider hospitality as a profession, Dr. Srivastava described the industry as dynamic, exciting, and highly rewarding, offering long-term stability, global opportunities, and continuous professional growth.
With strong industry backing, international internship programs, and a curriculum focused on both technical expertise and personality development, FHRAI Institute of Hotel Management continues to prepare students to become future leaders in the rapidly expanding hospitality industry.
