Greater Noida News (05/06/2026): Inclement weather conditions across the Delhi-NCR region disrupted the Big Cricket League (BCL) schedule on Thursday, leading to the postponement of one fixture and a delayed start to another.

The day’s second scheduled match between Northern Challengers and Southern Spartans could not be played after persistent rainfall and technical challenges left the ground unsuitable for cricket. Following discussions involving match officials and the league’s technical committee, the fixture was officially postponed and will now be played on June 8, 2026.

Despite weather-related interruptions, the third match of the day between Mumbai Marines and Gujarat Diamonds eventually went ahead after multiple inspections of the playing surface and outfield. Match officials cleared the venue for play, allowing the contest to begin at 8:55 PM.

With valuable playing time lost due to rain, the match was shortened to 15 overs per side. Mumbai Marines won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Gujarat Diamonds made the most of the reduced format, producing an impressive batting display to post 141 for 5 in their allotted 15 overs. The innings was built on calculated aggression and timely partnerships that kept the scoreboard moving throughout.

Chasing a challenging target, Mumbai Marines found it difficult to gain momentum against a disciplined Gujarat Diamonds bowling unit. Regular wickets and tight bowling restricted the Marines to 97 for 8 at the end of their innings, sealing a comprehensive 44-run victory for Gujarat Diamonds.

One of the standout initiatives of the Big Cricket League continues to be its Amateur Players Reward Program, designed to recognize and encourage emerging cricket talent. Through the league’s unique Buzzer Rewards system, amateur players achieving specific performance milestones during matches receive instant cash rewards for their contributions.
