GBU Signs Landmark MoU with Patanjali Research Foundation for Healthcare Innovation

Greater Noida News (09/06/2026): In a significant step toward strengthening research-driven healthcare innovation, Gautam Buddha University (GBU), Greater Noida, has entered into a strategic partnership with Patanjali Research Foundation (PRF), Haridwar. The collaboration aims to advance interdisciplinary research, academic exchange, and evidence-based studies in Ayurveda, herbal medicine, and integrative healthcare systems.
The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 4, 2026. The agreement was signed by Prof. Chander Kumar Singh, Registrar of Gautam Buddha University, and Dr. Anurag Varshney, Vice President of Patanjali Research Foundation, in the presence of Prof. Rana Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University.
The signing ceremony witnessed the participation of senior academicians and researchers from both institutions, including Dr. Rajeev Varshney, Dean Academics at GBU, and Prof. S. Dhanalakshmi, Dean of the School of Biotechnology and Dean of Planning & Research. Scientists, faculty members, and research professionals from both organizations also attended the event.
The collaboration is expected to create a platform for combining traditional Indian medical knowledge with modern scientific methodologies. Through joint initiatives, the two institutions plan to undertake advanced research projects, laboratory-based investigations, clinical evaluations, randomized controlled trials, meta-analytical studies, and technology-enabled healthcare innovations.
Officials from both organizations stated that the alliance will focus on generating scientifically validated solutions in areas such as Ayurveda, medicinal plants, natural products, clinical sciences, and holistic healthcare. The partnership is designed to encourage knowledge sharing, research excellence, and the development of innovative healthcare approaches that can benefit society at large.
The agreement also supports the broader vision of India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes multidisciplinary learning, research-driven education, innovation, and the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems into mainstream academic and scientific frameworks. By leveraging the strengths of a public university and a renowned research institution, the collaboration seeks to contribute to the development of credible, evidence-based healthcare practices.
University officials noted that the partnership will offer opportunities for faculty members, researchers, and students to engage in collaborative projects, thereby enhancing research capabilities and fostering academic growth. It is also expected to strengthen efforts toward validating traditional healthcare practices through rigorous scientific evaluation.
