Greater Noida News (6 August 2026): The 9th India International Hospitality Expo (IHE 2026) is underway at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, from August 5 to 8, bringing together the country’s leading hospitality, foodservice, bakery, and tourism professionals. Organised by India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), the four-day B2B exhibition features more than 1,000 exhibitors and is expected to attract over 25,000 industry visitors, making it one of India’s largest hospitality networking and sourcing events.
The expo showcases cutting-edge hospitality solutions through product launches, buyer-seller meetings, industry conferences, live culinary demonstrations, design forums, and national-level culinary competitions.
Speaking to Ten News Network, Sanjay Anand, Founder of Pastry Queen India and Hammer Publishers, said the competition was established in 2015 with a singular objective—to give India’s pastry chefs the recognition they have long deserved.
“While celebrity chefs often receive public appreciation, pastry chefs usually work behind the scenes despite creating some of the most memorable culinary experiences,” Anand said. Drawing on years of engagement with the baking industry through Bakery Review and Food & Beverage Business Review magazines, he explained that the initiative was created to provide talented pastry professionals with a national platform to demonstrate their creativity and technical excellence.
Highlighting the uniqueness of the competition, Anand said Pastry Queen India is one of the few dedicated platforms in the country exclusively focused on pastry and bakery professionals. He noted that changing consumer preferences—particularly among younger audiences—have significantly increased the demand for innovative desserts, artisan breads, premium cakes, pastries, and gourmet baked products. The competition, he added, aims to celebrate this evolving segment while promoting excellence within the industry.
Sharing details of the four-day culinary programme at IHE 2026, Anand said the opening two days are devoted to Pastry Queen India, featuring female pastry chefs representing prestigious hospitality brands such as JW Marriott, The Oberoi, and The Leela, who compete across multiple technical and creative challenges.
The third day hosts the Master Bakers India Challenge, where professional bakers from leading hotels, cafés, and bakeries showcase their expertise. The event concludes with the Culinary League, offering home chefs an opportunity to compete in innovative challenges, including reimagining Indian street food as fine-dining creations, preparing international cuisine using besan, and tackling a mystery box challenge designed to test creativity, adaptability, and culinary innovation.
Anand stressed that these competitions extend far beyond winning trophies. According to him, they serve as valuable learning platforms where participants, judges, and industry experts exchange knowledge, explore emerging trends, and inspire one another to raise professional standards across the hospitality sector.
Encouraging aspiring pastry chefs, bakers, and home cooks, he urged them to remain committed to continuous learning, innovation, and craftsmanship. He said passion and perseverance are the key ingredients for long-term success, adding that recognition naturally follows those who consistently refine their skills.
