IAS JoPP 2026 in Greater Noida: Experts Spotlight Advanced Joint Preservation Techniques

Greater Noida News (30 August 2026): The Indian Arthroscopy Society Joint Preservation Programme (IAS JoPP 2026) was successfully conducted at Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort in Greater Noida, bringing together leading orthopaedic specialists, surgeons and medical professionals to discuss modern approaches aimed at preserving natural joints and reducing the need for joint replacement surgeries.

Organised under the aegis of the Indian Arthroscopy Society (IAS) in association with the Greater Noida Orthopaedic Association, the day-long programme focused on contemporary concepts, surgical innovations and evidence-based techniques for managing joint-related conditions while retaining the patient’s natural joint wherever clinically feasible.

Brig. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Director of the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Ajay Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai, was present as the Guest of Honour.

The programme was organised under the leadership of Dr. Vikas Saxena, Organising Chairman and Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at GIMS. Dr. A. P. Singh, President of the Greater Noida Orthopaedic Association, and Dr. Prateek Rastogi, Organising Secretary and Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at GIMS, also played key roles in the organisation of the programme.

Senior representatives and specialists from the Indian Arthroscopy Society, Uttar Pradesh Orthopaedic Association and several medical institutions participated in the academic proceedings, providing a platform for professional interaction and exchange of clinical expertise.

The inaugural session began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of continuous surgical education, regular exchange of scientific knowledge and the adoption of advanced medical techniques to improve treatment outcomes and ensure better patient care.

Live Surgery Telecast Becomes Key Highlight

One of the major attractions of IAS JoPP 2026 was the live telecast of surgeries performed at the GIMS operation theatre. During the live sessions, expert surgeons demonstrated advanced joint-preservation procedures and explained each stage of the surgical process to participating delegates.

The experts also discussed the technical considerations involved in the procedures, potential challenges during surgery and the clinical factors that influence treatment decisions. The live demonstrations enabled participants to gain practical insights into the application of contemporary joint-preservation techniques.

The academic programme covered a wide range of subjects related to orthopaedic joint care, including joint preservation, arthroscopy, ligament and cartilage injuries, patient selection, advanced surgical procedures and postoperative rehabilitation.

Expert lectures, case-based discussions and interactive sessions formed an important part of the programme. Delegates also had the opportunity to engage directly with experienced faculty members and discuss the diagnosis and management of complex orthopaedic conditions.

Programme Awarded Three Credit Hours

The IAS Joint Preservation Programme 2026 was awarded three credit hours by the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council, recognising its academic and professional value for participating medical practitioners.

The organisers said the programme provided an important forum for strengthening knowledge of modern joint-preservation strategies among orthopaedic surgeons and trainees. It also encouraged greater exposure to advanced arthroscopic procedures and techniques that can potentially help eligible patients delay or avoid joint replacement.

At the conclusion of the programme, Dr. Prateek Rastogi, Organising Secretary, delivered the vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to the chief guest, guest of honour, faculty members, participating delegates, supporting organisations, members of the organising committee and all those involved in successfully conducting IAS JoPP 2026.

The programme concluded with an emphasis on continued collaboration, surgical training and scientific exchange to advance joint-preservation practices and improve the quality of orthopaedic care.
