Razorpay Partners with OpenAI to Help Indian Businesses Advertise on ChatGPT

National News (06/10/2026): Indian fintech company Razorpay has partnered with OpenAI to help businesses across India advertise on ChatGPT, marking a significant step in the growing integration of artificial intelligence with digital advertising and product discovery.

Under the partnership, businesses will be able to use Razorpay Engage to prepare product catalogues, manage product feeds, launch ChatGPT Ads campaigns and track advertising performance from a single platform.

Razorpay Co-founder Shashank Kumar announced the partnership, highlighting Razorpay Engage as a platform designed to help Indian businesses access and effectively use ChatGPT Ads as part of their digital marketing strategies.

AI-Powered Advertising Tools for Businesses

Razorpay Engage will enable businesses to assess whether their product catalogues are ready for ChatGPT Ads. Companies can organise product information, create structured product feeds and set up advertising campaigns through the platform.

The platform will also integrate an AI agent with Razorpay’s ChatGPT Ads expertise to assist advertisers in creating, managing and optimising their campaigns. Businesses will be able to monitor campaign performance, analyse results and make necessary adjustments based on the data.

In addition to AI-powered assistance, Razorpay’s team will provide human support to businesses whenever required, combining automated tools with expert guidance.

Leading Brands Included in Initial Partnership

The initial agreement includes several prominent brands and organisations, including Fastrack, Traya, Tata Neu, Rivaah by Tanishq, Shaadi.com, Axis Max Life, Tanishq, Palmonas and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).

Razorpay announced the partnership on October 5, 2026, as businesses increasingly explore AI-powered platforms to reach consumers and influence purchasing decisions.

OpenAI Expands ChatGPT Advertising Business

The partnership comes as OpenAI continues to expand its advertising business globally. On August 31, 2026, OpenAI announced that advertisers in India could begin purchasing ChatGPT Ads directly through its Ads Manager.

OpenAI has also stated that ChatGPT Ads achieved a $1 billion annualised revenue run rate in less than 200 days, highlighting the rapid growth of advertising opportunities around AI-powered consumer interactions.

The expansion reflects a broader shift in how consumers search for and evaluate products. Instead of relying solely on traditional keyword-based searches, users can describe their requirements, preferences and budgets directly to ChatGPT and explore relevant products and alternatives.

AI Emerging as a New Product Discovery Channel

On September 16, 2026, OpenAI said users were increasingly turning to AI to discover products, compare alternatives and make purchasing decisions. The company has also been developing new AI-powered tools for advertisers and experimenting with sponsored business agents.

The Razorpay-OpenAI partnership could therefore provide Indian businesses with a new channel to reach consumers at the product-discovery stage, while giving advertisers tools to manage their presence within the emerging AI-driven commerce ecosystem.

Razorpay’s Fintech Background

Founded in Bengaluru in 2014 by IIT Roorkee alumni Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar, Razorpay provides digital payment and financial technology solutions to businesses across India.

With the partnership, Razorpay is expanding its role beyond payments and financial services into the rapidly developing field of AI-powered advertising and commerce, connecting Indian businesses with new opportunities to engage consumers through ChatGPT.
