Aam Aadmi Party today led a massive protest through the heart of Delhi. The protest as planned started from Mandi house but could march only till Parliament street.
Massive police presence thwarted Aam Aadmi Party’s plan to march to Lok Kalyan Marg as diversions ensured AAP workers movement in designated area. However despite closure of 5 Metro station gates and lot of barricading throughout Delhi, many thousand Aam Aadmi Party workers joined the protest to make their voices heard.
The sloganeering against Modi and LG continued throughout 2.5 Kilometre long route. Party leader and RS MP Sanjay Singh was at the forefront of protest which also witnessed presence of most AAP MLA’s. The two other Rajysabha MP’s from AAP were also present.
The CPI(M) also lent its support to the march, with party general secretary Sitaram Yechury condemning the manner in which the federal feature of the Constitution was being “undermined” by the BJP government at the Centre.
Aam Aadmi Party has now said that they will be starting a door to door campaign to inform people about the alleged ‘bias’ with Delhi government.
