AAP to march to the Parliament in protest of demonetisation

– Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia will lead the march

The Aam Aadmi Party will march to the parliament under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to protest against this scam and demand roll back of demonetisation. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal is holding rallies in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh to make the people aware of the Rs 8 lac scam and to protest against the most anti-poor step take by any government in this world.

Former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Shri K C Chakravarthy has given an interview to a national daily in which he makes a shocking revelation about demonetisation. He revealed that many a time the government and RBI contemplated whether demonetisation can be used to end black money, but it was always rejected because data and research showed that it would not work. The RBI had rejected government’s proposal on demonetisation stating that the bulk of the black money is not in cash, but is invested in property, bullion or stashed in off shore accounts. All leading economists, RBI experts, former Governors and bankers have advised the Government of India that demonetisation will have no effect on black money. CBDT report 2011 clearly stated the same, that black money will not be affected through demonetisation. It is therefore shocking that Narendra Modi has ignored the advice of all subject matter experts and gone and went ahead with demonetisation. It makes it clear that Narendra Modi’s purpose was not to tackle black money at all.

National Spokesperson and senior leader of the party Ashish Khetan said during a press conference held today, “AAP says that the first purpose of this move was to give the BJP the advantage of being the only ones with the largest amount of black money in new currency which they can use in the elections. In every city, every district, every corner of India BJP leaders have a free run of changing their black money in all banks through the back door. The new currency that comes to the banks is first used to convert the vast sums of the BJP leaders and the poor public is told that the currency is over.”

“The other reason was to start a new money making racket. Black money is being converted to new currency at commission rates ranging from 20% to 40%. Ask a few people and you will be immediately connected to an agent or ‘dalal’ who will do this for you. These agents are working with and for Modi Sarkar. They have a free hand and are not being apprehended for such a large scale, open scam,” added Mr Khetan.

“The third and the most important reason for demonetisation is to benefit BJP’s crony capitalists. Big businessmen take loans from public sector. These banks have our savings, our hard earned tax paid money which we have put away for children’s future, for their education or their wedding. These savings are given as loans of 1000s of crores to businessmen who are close to the ruling parties. Banks have loaned lacs of crores of our money to a select group of businessmen. The businessmen siphon of this money and don’t pay either the capital or the interest. Today with  8 lac crores worth of bad loans most banks are close to bankruptcy themselves!” Mr Khetan said.

This demonetisation has put our money in the banks and now the banks will loan out more money to crony businessmen. Meanwhile the Modi government allows the banks to keep writing off the bad loans. The Supreme court has questioned the RBI on a write off of 1.25 lac crore of bad loans. The SC has demanded that the names of these defaulters who have bad loans should be made public. But GOI and RBI are refusing to share the names of the their cronies. The day after demonetisation SBI wrote of 1200 crores of Vijay Mally’s loan! He owes that banks 8000 crore and has fled the country to escape punishment. Instead Modi Government is rewarding him by writing off his loans. A Safai Karamchari from Mumbai has written to the government that the same generosity that has been bestowed on Vijay Mallya, be given to him too and his 1.5 lac loan should be written off. It is such a shame that while farmers are committing suicide due to their bad debts, their loans are not written off. The BJP has no empathy for the poor farmers but is happy to help Vijay Mallya with our money.
