New Delhi, 1 June 2022: AAP Leader and MLA Atishi has slammed L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena for intervening in the state government’s jurisdiction.
On May 30, L-G Saxena had called upon the Delhi Jal Board and gave certain direction to them. However, the AAP Leader Atishi stated that water-related issues does not come under his jurisdiction.
Atishi also highlighted that if the authorities receive dual directions, it will only lead to chaos of administration in the national capital and work will only be disrupted. “The protocol suggest L-G to talk to the chief minister about the water problems first, who will then talk to the concerned minister and authorities,” Atishi urged.
According to the Constitution of India and also signed by the Constitution bench of the Supreme Court, Land, Law and order, and police related issues falls under his rule. Power, water, education, health comes under the jurisdiction of the elected state government, she said.
“I request the L-G to focus on these issues. If he wants to solve Delhi’s problems, he should start with the big garbage dump, women security, cleanliness and MCD,” she added.
