Transfer Duty on Properties hiked by 1% in Delhi

New Delhi, 1 June 2022: Delhi’s Unified MCD has decided to increase transfer duty by 1% on properties worth above ₹25 lakh in Delhi, according to sourses.

It is stated that following the new regulations, for men the transfer duty will be 4% and 3% for women. This will make it tough for people to buy properties in the national capital.

According to officials, “a proposal was moved before the special officer in capacity of the standing committee to hike transfer duty on properties priced above ₹25 lakh by 1 per cent. The proposal was approved by the SO (special officer). After the hike, transfer duty will be 4 per cent for men and 3 per cent for women.”
