Academy of Convention Trade Fair, Event Research & Management Inaugurated at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida

“ACTERM” or Academy of Convention Trade Fair, Event Research & Management was today inaugurated at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. This is slated to be India’s first and only academy with this kind of curriculum which is aimed at providing professional education and first-hand experience to interested students who would want to build a career in thriving event industry of India.
Speaking at the event, Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Ltd. said, “To organize an activity like trade fair or hosting a fair of such scale give huge business boost to the region. From Hotel, caterers to interpreters or drivers, a large number of people get employment because of such events. So, I consider Exhibition as the engine of growth for small cities.
As per convention centres are concerned, they give huge boost to growth. The cities like Geneva grew because of the same. We in India also have a tradition of organising fairs or mela’s in India. Maha Kumbh is one such staggering example; separated by thousand kilometres they take place at 4 places in India. We can call them convention of Sadhu’s. Over 30 Million people take a dip in Ganga in this particular day”
Speaking further he said, “Our vision is to create an academy par excellence to impart knowledge and experience through practical training. Prove or Perish is the call of the day. We at ACTERM believe that one can only learn through doing and not just by listening and here we will live by this philosophy”.
Renowned socialite and stalwart of fashion industry Sunil Sethi has will be President (Academics) of ACTERM. Speaking at the event he said, “We are turning a new page in the chapter of education with this venture. This will satiate the growing needs of not just the event industry but will also forge ties within space of trade fairs and international conferences”.
The inauguration ceremony was held today at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. Students from GL Bajaj Institute of Management, BIMTECH, Sharda University etc. were present during the ceremony.
ACTERM will offer post graduated diploma in trade fair, event & convention management as well as Diploma in trade fair, event & convention management. The initial intake will be of 70 students with 35 students in each batch.
