Accused who fled from GIMS after spoofing police personnel’s, arrested from Etah

On Sunday, Greater Noida police arrested a prisoner who fled from police custody while he was under treatment at GIMS Greater Noida. The accused was arrested for threatening to kidnap a ninth standard girl. Kasna police and Etah police nabbed the accused in a joint operation.

On March 3rd, Ecotech police had received a complaint of a man threatening to kidnap a ninth standard girl after entering her house. At the time of the incident, the girl’s brother and neighbours caught the accused and thrashed him, later they handed him to the police. The accused was identified as Rajat Gupta, a resident of Brahmpuri Usmanpur, Delhi. The accused was sent to jail on March 4th, but he had to get admitted to GIMS because of medical conditions. He managed to flee the hospital on Thursday after spoofing the police personnel deployed there.

 

After the accused fled, the Jail superintendent suspended all 4 police constables. Since then Kasna police was looking for the accused and finally, on Sunday, the accused was arrested from Rewari Colony in Etha, where he was hiding in his maternal grandmother’s home.
