New Delhi, (2/4/2019): The Election Commission of India has asked the Aviation Ministry to direct the Air India officials for having PM Modi’s photograph on the boarding passes on violation of the model code of conduct.

In a letter written to the Ministry of Aviation, EC clearly states that, “serious displeasure over the non compliance it commission’s lawful instructions and the unconcerned approach in enforcing the Model Code of Conduct”.

The EC also shows displeasure from the aviation secretary for not responding to the letter sent dated 29 March in this regard. It also instructed the secretary to convey their displeasure over the subject to Air India.

The incident happened last week when someone on social media uploaded a photograph of the Air India boarding pass which carries a picture of PM Narendra Modi on the back side of the pass. The EC took notice and written a complaint to the Air India, to which they had not responded.
