AISA stages protest against hike in metro fares in Capital!

New Delhi: After Various students bodies  took out a protest march urging the prime minister to rollback the metro fare hike and give concessional passes to all Delhi University students.
 All India Students Association (AISA) students on Tuesday, staged protest against hike in metro fares in Capital. The Protest March Was organised at central secretariat metro station where the AISA members were detained by the police when they were trying to stage a demonstration.
Meanwhile, a few other students’ groups have also backed the AISA protest.The AISA are trying to create awareness among the Delhiites as several of their earlier protests have failed to evoke any favourable response from the government and Metro officials, said AISA Member.

Speaking to Ten News one of the AISA member said, “we have been protesting against the 100% hike in Metro fares in the Capital making public transport inaccessible for many but so far it has fallen on deaf ears. The central government that operates the Delhi Metro has chosen to ignore our needs and we are now getting restless. We demand that the Prime Minister listen to us immediately.”
