Akhil Bhartiya Vidyut Sewa Nirvit Karamchari Mahasangh stage protest against National Pension System

New Delhi: Today in the national capital, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyut Sewa Nirvit Karamchari Mahasangh protested at Jantar Mantar opposing the problems goverment employees are facing after the latest change in pension scheme in India. Pension is now less when related to old pension scheme and even there are workers whose pension from many months is stuck.

In October, Ten News was at National Movement for Old Pension Scheme, NMOPS which started with a silent protest of retired as well as working government officials. These people were from various government departments such as education, railways and some of the other government departments.

India’s pension system still ranks 28 out of the 30 countries covered by the Melbourne Mercer Global Pension Index.

P S Matharu, One of a member of reading team of ABVSNKM from Jabalpur said,

“After the latest change in the pension scheme in India, government is now knowingly skipping pensions of many of the workers and are not taking any step to resolve the issue. We have now initiated a protest against this issue and won’t back off till we get our demands fulfilled.”

Prahlaad Singh, Head, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyut Sewa Nirvit Karamchari Mahasangh also spoke at the protest .
He said,

“We are all ready for every outcome till our demands get fulfilled. We have an army to oppose government and we have introduced 14 letters of requirements to be fulfilled. We demand that we should be provided with cashless medical services and we should also be provided with adequate electrical facilities. Our pensions are either reduced to halves and are sometimes even skipped. We are not gonna tolerate this anymore. “
