Alleging atrocity against advocate GB Nagar Bar Council protests at SSP office, Police assures inquiry

Greater Noida (31/08/2017) Members of Gautam Buddha Nagar Bar council today protested against alleged atrocity committed against one of the advocates on Wednesday night. The protest at SSP office witnessed huge presence of Bar council members. The protesting advocates allege that one of the bar council member named Suresh Raj Gautam was kept in illegal detention at Dadri police station where police personnel’s also allegedly misbehaved with the advocate.

Complainant Levies Strong Charges Against Police

According to the complainant Suresh Raj Gautam, one of his friend named Anil Kumar was being assaulted by some police personnel of Dadri Police station at GT Road, Dadri. Suresh Raj gautam says, “I intervened in the matter upon which police constable confesticated my wallet, mobile and bike keys. Thereafter I along with Anil Kumar was dragged to police station and was beaten at the place. I wasn’t allowed to made call for whole night. I demand case against concerned officials and a high level enquiry”.

Gautam Buddha Nagar Bar Council President Vipin Bhati says, “We demand that an immediate case be registered in this regard and concerned police officials be punished for their indecent act. Such behaviour cannot be tolerated in a lawful society”.

Police denies charges, Assures of enquiry by senior officials

CO1 Greater Noida Amit Kishor Shrivastav met with the advocates and listened to their demands. Speaking after the meeting he said, “Yesterday night in Dadri police station area our PCR found a heavily drunk person. He was also misbehaving with police and creating nuisance. He was taken to the police station and a case under Section 290 IPC was registered. Later police got to know that the person is and advocate and in morning he was released on a bail”.

On demands of protesting advocates he said, “I have heard their complaints and we can assure that an investigation in this case will be done by senior officials. If any truth is found in the charges being levied by the complainant, necessary action will be taken”.

 

Meanwhile advocates continued to protest at SSP office situated at Surajpur and have stayed away from official work for the day. Bar council members have also said that if their demands aren’t met by the officials, they may extend their agitation to other courts as well.
