New Delhi : Today, Delhi Govt. Employees Welfare Association held protest at the outskirts of Delhi Secretariat. Three highly important members of the association initiated indefinite fast against the alleged indiscriminatery policies of Delhi Govt. Officers.

Large number of employees from the ranks of Junior Assistants to Sub Divisional Magistrates participated in the protest due to which work in Trade and Taxes, revenue Departments and in other offices of Delhi Secretariat got affected badly.

According to one of the protestors, “Seeing the negative attitude of the services department Officers, the Association has decided to intensify the agitation which might affect the working in most of the offices in Delhi Govt. Departments.”

Umesh Batra, General Secretary, Delhi Govt Employees Association speaking to Ten News said, “Adhoc promotions were made to the post of Section Officer but they are compelled to work on junior post in the same department where they were previously working as Assistant Section Officer. Even vacancies are available on regular basis but services department’s head is busy in DSSSB and DOV and services department is only busy in issuing special transfer orders. Due to which approx 250 Section Officers will bear the loss of NFSG of level 10 and approx 250 Seniors Assistants will also bear the consequences.”

“The Delhi Government Employees have always acted as an interface between the Government and the citizens of Delhi and diligently work to carry forward and implement the programmes and policies of the Government effectively for the betterment of Delhi but there is no one to hear the cries of employees of DASS cadre”, he added.
