West Bengal, August 30, 2022: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday challenged BJP to arrest her if they can.

Her statements come in the backdrop of her party, TMC, members Partha Chatterjee, and Anubrata Mondal getting arrested in school jobs scam and alleged cattle smuggling cases, respectively.

Banerjee said that the BJP is using black money and central agencies to dislodge elected non-saffron party governments across India.

The TMC leader, who was attending a rally of her party’s student wing in Kolkata, said a malicious campaign has been unleashed against her, and other TMC veterans.

“They are campaigning in a way as if all of us in the TMC are thieves and only the BJP and its leaders are holy. Had I not been in politics, I would have torn out their tongues,” she said.

Accusing BJP of using their funds to destroy other governments, Banerjee said, “From where did you(BJP) get the money to topple the Maharashtra government? You tried to do the same thing in Jharkhand with three MLAs but I did not let it happen. You also have 800 crores ready to topple the government in Delhi. Where do you get all this money from?”.

The CM also referred to the Bilkis Bano case and remarked on the ideologies of the Modi-led government.
“They talk about love and protecting our daughters but they are the ones perpetrating violence against women. No criminals should be spared nor any incidents should be forgotten”.

The Bengal chief minister vowed to defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
